Watching two young Osprey practice take off and landings was like watching a baby take it's first steps or a teenager starting to drive. They put on a great show but in the end only one was rewarded with a fish.

The Blue Angels put on another great show today during their practice run at Battle Creek Michigan. Two more shows are planned for July 2 & 3.

Through the rain and early morning mist the Mounted Division of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff rode in across the Miller Parking lot at Western Michigan University. A strange silence came over the activities as the sound of horses moved closer to the crowds which were gathering for the funeral of PSO Eric Zapata.

In March I attended the National Curling meet in Kalamazoo. That was my first time attending a meet and it was very interesting. Watching it on TV does not begin to show the focus, skill and conditioning it takes to make that rock slide down the ice. After I download the photos I could not find them and thought they we lost but over the Christmas weekend they were found. Just like a present waiting to be unwrapped. Although they are close to a year old they still look good so I thought they should be posted while ice and winter is on my mind. Enjoy!
